
Good-bye to a cultural pioneer and innovator, certainly, Gary Ewing was one of the Greats. Our circle, and many, will miss his strength and presence.

Headliner Band: 40th Year Reunion of PORTLAND ZOO
With performances by: Jacobs Ladder, Brown Sugar, Memorial Jug Band, ZTAB, Moz Wright-Fire & Sword, Brothers of the Baladi, Dennis Mitchell Band, McConaughy & Brown, Freak Mountain Memorial Band, Billy Kennedy & friends, New Iberians, Omega 3 & the Fatty Acids, Jack Cousens, Neal Granstaff & the Wonder Tones, Chris Wetteland, Gil Reynolds Trio, Mind at Large, Metropolitan Learning Center Marimba Band, Donna Lynn, Kingnik, Greg Stockard, and the “R” Band.
In addition “The Gary Ewing LightShow” will be performed as a 1960’s Vintage Liquid LightShow. It will be performed by people who actually did the liquid lightshows under Gary’s artistic supervision.
Also performing with The Gary Ewing LightShow will be Crystal M. Ewing who is the next generation of Gary Ewing’s Visuals and LightShow. She is our Wizardess -In-Training. She will be under the Instruction of the Authentic 1960’s Gary Ewing Light Show Crew and will be carrying-on in her father’s footsteps.
With the Bands Playing, the performers performing, and the 60’s LightShow; this should be one of best historic events in the history of Portland, and the Pacific Northwest. Included will be a Video presentation of Gary Ewing’s Historic Music Poster Collection, a Silent Auction, and a full day of Musical Fellowship.
This will be a Free Event for All Ages . Donations are gladly accepted to continue Gary’s Visions and help support his family.
Gary Ewing led the Dr. P.H. Martin’s Magical Medicine Show and Travelling Tranquility Circus in the 1960’s, performing at colleges and events throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Throughout the day and into the evening Lola’s Room on the second floor will be open for persons 21 years old and over. It will be an open area, for musicians who wish to jam together and will have their time approved by the Event’s Stage Crew. Lola’s Room will Close at 8:45pm for our headliners of this memorial event in the Ballroom on the third floor The Portland Zoo Electric Band.
