i dreamt a friend was crying
i could do nothing

he just stood in front of me sobbing
his head lurched up and down with each heave

i couldn't see his face
only big fat tears splashing
across the front of his big fat blue down coat

usually his mind is so full
of varied thinking and things and projects
but last night...no...
his mind was emptying clear
