Rescheduled Shoehorn Events

Shoehorn with Mrs. Kucinich

#1)Rescheduled from the last email!
Shoehorn adds woodwinds, voice and tap dance to the Brazilian
stylings of:

Nacao Bate Livre (Free Beat Nation)
Go Gringo Go
Beat Lore
FRIDAY, October 10th, 2008 9pm-midnight at
The Blue Monk
3341 SE Belmont, Portland OR
$5

Go Gringo Go has been one of my favorite side projects. Lead by Pink
Martini percussion powerhouse Derek Reith, these 3 groups all explore
various facets of Brazilian percussion culture, some selections
include a veneer of jazz and popular tunes from the USA. Also
includes other vocalists and DJ Cachacinha. Danceable, fun and
dynamic!

#2) Gresham Jazz Run-free Sunday,October 12th
This is a fund-raiser I am doing organized by Anthony Neely,
Music Director of Portland Adventist Elementary School, to raise
money for jazz education. I will perform across from Gresham City
Park from 7:30- 8:30am and then move to the Spring Water Trail near
SW 19th Dr. for another hour of playing.

A wonderful evening of World Class Talent Sharing their Artistry
and their integrity of purpose in one of the most momentous times in
our Nation's History.

An evening of music and dance, laughter and song and spoken word
presented by some of the most gifted Artists our City has to offer.
An oleo of creativity woven together with threads of the Declaration
of Independence, The US Constitution, The Bill of Rights and The
Geneva Convention read thruout. An evening of Hope and Promise and
Possibility. A reminder of what we have lost, what's at stake and
what WE CAN reclaim and renew! Oh YES WE CAN.
An evening filled with the Artistry of Humanity, the
inextinguishable Light of the Human Spirit, an evening with one
another.
